Why I built it

18 years running an irrigation company. This is the tool I needed.

I'm Robert Kemp. I ran Water Wise Sprinkler Repair in the East Valley for 18 years and started its Hydrawise flow-monitoring program. It worked — until the next customer had a Rachio, or an old timer in the garage. And when customers asked what a plan would save them, we couldn't say. We didn't know their water rates.

The hardest part was never the repair. It was keeping the homeowner, the tech and the office on the same page — and showing customers skilled work they couldn't see. Controller apps manage controllers. Nobody managed the customer, and nobody knew what the water cost. MyWaterBudget does both.

Wi-Fi controllers

Hydrawise · Rachio

Connect live. Every controller, zone and alert lands in your book — with what each problem costs the customer per month at their rates. Rain Bird Wi-Fi is coming through Rachio.

Everything else

Any timer, Wi-Fi or not

Runs as a virtual smart controller — we write the schedule, the homeowner or your tech sets it. The homeowner photographs the meter, runs a zone 5 minutes, photographs it again. AI reads the meter. A zone running high alerts your shop — with the dollars.

Every home

A home file that fills itself

Snap the meter, controller, valves, backflow and a pressure gauge. AI reads each photo and files it, time-stamped with the weather. Backflow tests due, homes over 80 psi and non-Wi-Fi controllers become your sales list.

Why now

Water rates are going up. Your customers will want answers.

Arizona keeps building, and water isn't getting cheaper. When the bill jumps, the homeowner calls someone. It should be you — with the numbers.

50–70%

of an Arizona home's water use goes to irrigation — the biggest lever a homeowner has, and the one they understand least.

$3.07 → $10.75

per 1,000 gallons: Queen Creek's proposed water resource fee, phased in over six years. Nearby cities have increases on the table too.

One call

is usually all a homeowner remembers. What was checked, what was fixed and why it mattered disappears when the truck pulls away.

Residential irrigation is a skilled trade. The work deserves customer service that shows it.

The problem

No leaks in the system. No leaks in the business.

Leaks in the system

  • A broken lateral runs for weeks before the bill shows it
  • Schedules set once at install and never touched again
  • Controller alerts land in an inbox nobody owns
  • "It'll save water" — with no measurement to prove it

Leaks in the business

  • The homeowner never sees what the tech actually did
  • Notes and photos live on one phone — or nowhere
  • The office chases the field for answers it should already have
  • Customers never hear from you until something breaks

Fix one without the other and it won't hold. MyWaterBudget closes both.

How it works

One property record. Homeowner, tech and office all see it.

Three connected apps around one record — same system, same history, same next step, updated in seconds. Nothing to install and no hardware. Everyone opens a link on their phone or computer.

For the technician

Field app

Water audits at the meter, a visit checklist, photos and notes, and the day's jobs — on the tech's phone. Filed from the yard in a few minutes.

For the office & owner

Office console

Every customer, controller, audit, Water Report and alert in one place. Alerts become work orders. Branding, team and homeowner requests live here too.

For the homeowner

Your-brand app

Your name and logo, not ours. Their system, every Water Report with photos, plain-English alerts, savings in dollars and a button to ask for service.

What your shop gets

  • Every customer in one book — Hydrawise, Rachio or no Wi-Fi at all
  • Controller alerts turned into work orders, with what each one costs the customer
  • A free sales audit on every home — the water bill, the fix and the savings, in dollars
  • Your plans, your prices — visits, discounts, scope and pay-in-full set by you, priced from your own labor packages
  • A home file per property: meter, controller, valves, backflow, pressure — read from photos
  • Proof of skilled work the customer can see — and fewer "what did you guys do?" calls

What the homeowner gets

  • Every visit on file, with before and after photos
  • What each zone uses and costs — measured, not guessed
  • Alerts they can understand, and someone already on it
  • Seasonal schedule changes done for them
  • One tap to request service, with a photo
  • Control over what their contractor can see
From real jobs

The work is good. Now the homeowner can see it.

Two real East Valley repairs, filed the way a tech files them in the field app. This is the Water Report that lands in the homeowner's app with your name on it.

After: new pressure vacuum breaker and copper riser with ball-valve isolation
After New backflow preventer and copper riser, isolation valves on both sides
Valves & backflow Fixed todayLeaks Fixed today
What we found
The mainline was leaking at the riser — old copper corroded through and a patched PVC repair under the backflow preventer. Water was running under pressure 24 hours a day.
Work done
Replaced the backflow preventer and the riser in new copper, with ball valves on both sides so the next repair doesn't shut down the house. Repaired the mainline and reset the hose bib.
Why it matters
A mainline leak runs whether the sprinklers are on or not. The homeowner sees the fix, the photos and the drop on the next bill.

What we found
Four old anti-siphon valves buried in the dirt — weeping, hard to service and no way to shut them off without killing the water to the house.
Work done
Rebuilt the valves as one manifold with new valves, a master ball valve and waterproof wire connections, set in a valve box at grade.
Why it matters
The next service call takes minutes instead of a shovel. The homeowner can see exactly what's under that lid.
Sell the upgrade with real numbers

Measure it. Upgrade it. Prove it — on every visit after.

Your tech reads each zone at the water meter. MyWaterBudget prices it at the customer's own water rates. The homeowner sees what the upgrade saves before they say yes. After the job, the plan keeps checking it — no sensor or flow meter required.

A Water Report the homeowner actually reads.
